The Manzoni is Tom Dixon’s experimental space that encompasses food, ambiance, and shopping all at once. You can dine in this space completely designed by Tom Dixon, and everything you see is for sale. There is a lovely showroom where you can find Tom Dixon home objects which make the perfect gift for the person who already has everything. FYI, be sure to visit the powder room, these are the chicest bathrooms in town!

If you only have time to visit one store in Milan this is it. 10 Corso Como is the legendary concept store founded by Carla Sozzani in the 1990s. It has an eclectic garden space, a lovely outdoor bar, a restaurant, an art gallery, a book shop, and one of the most important multi brand designer clothing stores in the world. If you are looking for a selection of avant garde designer pieces, spectacular shoes, and accessories, this is a wonderful place to explore.

The flagship Fornasetti store in Milan is more like a museum than a boutique, with three floors jam-packed with pieces, archived designs and mid-century brand collateral, along with current ranges available for sale. The rooms each have a unique colour palette and theme - like the agate room, with wallpaper, table, bureau and chairs all adorned with squiggly agate patterns - and a focus on different items. For over 20 years Rossana Orlandi, winner of the Compasso d'Oro for Lifetime Achievement in 2022, has been the reference point in Milan and in the world for the avant-garde related to art and design applied to the living sector. Book a table or just hang out in the bar section. During summer there’s also a really nice outdoor seating. A place to for food, fun and drinks.

If you are addicted to news in the beauty industry, new products or brands, this is the place to be. You’ll find so many exciting products and the staff is just a treat. The store is small but excellent. It feels like Christmas all the year round when you leave with a bag brimming with the extra gifts.

Here you’ll find a very well curated selection of some of the best designer and furniture brands in the world. A selection both for your own home as well as for gifting. And if you need some support the staff is both knowledgeable and service minded. It’s inspiring just to walk trough the exhibition.

If you only have time for one stop in Stockholm – this is the place. Svenskt Tenn is an important part of Swedish design, both historically and contemporary. And as I’m proud to say, a client to Planeta Design for 12 years. With its unique expressions and vibrant design, Svenskt Tenn creates strong “want to have” feelings. A destination store.

If you need a break from the hot crowds of Bangkok try sitting down for High Tea at the Author’s Lounge. Set in the original Oriental Hotel, I absolutely adore the turn-of-the-century style wicker furniture and hand-painted fabrics. This is a historical location where some very notable authors have stayed including Joseph Conrad, Somerset Maugham, and Norman Mailer. The setting is gorgeous and the High Tea is exceptional.

The Siam is a breathtaking hotel that is visually stunning, warm, intimate and very welcoming. Set in the Royal Quarter of Bangkok on the Chao Phraya River, the hotel has been designed with Art Deco influences infused into traditional Thai architecture and houses an amazing collection of Thai antiquities collected by its creative director, Krissada Sukosol Clapp. The service is extremely personal, discreet, and incredibly effective.

This is the stunning original Bangkok home which is now a museum and includes the amazing Asian art collection of the late James H.W. Thompson, the legend also known as the “Thai Silk King”. This is one of my favorite places to visit in Bangkok and though I’ve been so many times over the years, I never tire of it. Afterwards you can visit the Iconic Store which holds the Jim Thomspon silk collection.

This is the world’s largest weekend market and it does not disappoint. It holds more than 15,000 stalls and 11,000 vendors specializing in everything from Thai arts and crafts to antiques, furniture, pets, plants, ceramics, and so much more. I love coming to this market. I recommend starting very early to avoid the heat. Be sure to cool off in between stalls with a mango smoothie or coconut ice cream. Yum.

This is one of my favorite restaurants, an outstanding Vietnamese restaurant in the heart of Bangkok. It’s set in a centuries-old, restored teak house surrounded by a lovely garden in the Sukhumvit neighborhood. The interiors are filled with antique furniture in a beautiful Vietnamese setting. And the Royal Vietnamese menu is something I dream of eating when I’m back home in Europe.

Mr. Jiu’s is both delicious and fun. I recommend starting at the Moonlight Lounge, a sexy, moody cocktail bar with aesthetic nods to Hong Kong Cinema of the 1960’s. Dinner honors traditional Chinese recipes while embracing the California heritage of local and sustainable ingredients. On my most recent visit, I was floored by the Monterey Bay Squid entree and the Chrysanthemum Flower & Lemon Ice Milk dessert.  I really recommend going family style because everything was worth a taste!

Atomic Garden epitomizes NorCal vibes with it’s intentionally LOcool aesthetic. Co-owners Adrienne Armstrong (she's married to Billy Joe of Green Day) and Jamie Kidson both have a background in fashion, and the space is filled with beautifully curated lifestyle objects that feel sustainable and aspirational. From handmade goat hair and natural fiber brooms in buckets made from reclaimed tires to one-of-a-kind boucherouite rugs directly from Morocco, Atomic Garden has all the things to elevate your home.

If you are looking for something a little rock and roll, EDO is the coolest salon in San Francisco. Founded in 1998, EDO makes you feel like you are winning at the hair contest, whatever and however your hair grows.
